The past few days have been quite the roller coaster of anxiety-inducing news about the Coronavirus (COVID-19). And with companies either closing indefinitely or shifting to a full-time work from home model, one is left wondering, what the heck am I suppose to do now with all this extra time stuck at home!?
My company has mandated employees to an indefinite work from home schedule, and as not to go stir- crazy in the next few days, here are 5 things I am committed to doing while I’m stuck at home.
This might come as a surprise to some people but baking is actually one of my favorite hobbies. I’m convinced I was a pastry chef in my past life, lol! With this extra time I have at home right now, I want to try my hand at a coconut cake topped with cream cheese frosting recipe. I’ve already mastered the cake, I just need to work on my frosting skills, lol….I’ll keep you guys posted on this one!
I literally have no excuse now! Ever since I launched my blog back in November I have been struggling a bit to find the right balance between my day job, blogger life and my personal life. 9 times out of 10 blogger life would get the back seat. Now that I’m stuck at home for who knows how long, I know I will have more time on my hands to create more content for Youtube and my blog.
It’s been almost 3 months since we’ve moved house (you can watch my house hunting story here) , and believe it or not we still haven’t fully settled in! There are still boxes of stuff to sort through and our bedroom is still not done. With our crazy schedules and the not so great weather, it’s been one of those things we’ve been conveniently delaying. Now, I guess it’s safe to say all that procrastination has ended and nesting mode is in full effect!
If there is one thing the recent turn of events regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has taught me, is that it’s foolish to rely solely on one source of income to get by! I work in the events industry and I’ve had close to 30% of my events cancelled so far. My company has started to make budget cuts to get through this difficult time, but the idea that they could possibly close or lay workers off definitely has me shook! With that being said, I want to dedicate some time to working on my side hustles that way if things really go sideways, I’ll have a little extra income to get me through a rough patch.
Can’t say I’ve had much time for TV in recent weeks so it will be great to catch up on my favorite shows like The Walking Dead and Grownish. I’m also on the lookout for new series to get into as well. Let me know if there is anything out there worth watching!
What do you plan on working on while in quarantine? Let me know in the comments below. Be safe folks and don’t forget to wash your hands frequently!
